It is really important that everyone has regular eye tests – but lots of people with learning disabilities are missing out.
Local opticians offer specially adapted eye tests and eye health check appointments across the Lancashire and South Cumbria area for people with learning disabilities or autism– it’s called the Easy Eye Care Service and it is available throughout the week and from some locations at weekends and evenings.
There is a PDF you can download HERE that explains why you should get your eyes checked and how to book an appointment.
There are now 34 accredited opticians who have been specifically trained in providing eye tests for people with a learning disability across our region. Visit this link at primaryeyecare.co.uk and just type your post code to find your nearest optician practice.
